I am an Editor and Director of Photography/Cinematographer based in Austin, TX with experience in television, documentary, commercial, and brand films. My work has won a Sports Emmy, 5 regional Emmys and has appeared in prestigious film festivals around the country.

I started as an editor and that has framed the way I work. Whether lighting, shooting or editing everything should enhance or support the story you are trying to tell. How you frame an interview or the style you shoot your b-roll will all affect the final piece and as a DP with an editor’s mindset I know what images to get and how it will all fit together. Pretty pictures are great but if they don’t cut together in any meaningful way you’re not going to get your message to the audience or evoke the emotional response you’re looking for.

On the editing side I base much of my philosophy on music. I came from a music background and I love choosing and cutting music and really driving my projects with it. I’ve done a lot of documentary editing where you need to be able to dig into an hour long interview and find a story that you can tell in less than 2 minutes. I have experience with everything on the post production side from grading, animation, mixing to music composition.
